Paula Schneider substitui Dov Charney na American Apparel

Dando início ao ano de 2015 da American Apparel, Paula Schneider, ex-executiva da Warnaco, vai liderar a empresa como CEO.

Paula Schneider, a former executive for Warnaco, will take the reins of American Apparel on Jan. 5 from founder and former CEO Dov Charney, who has been fired after an internal investigation that began with his suspension in June.

Facing charges of misconduct linked to a nude photo scandal, Charney had been working as a consultant for American Apparel since having to step down from his leadership role earlier this year. An internal committee investigated the scandal and decided to terminate him.

“Based on this investigation, the special committee determined that it would not be appropriate for Mr. Charney to be reinstated as CEO or an officer or employee of the company,” the company said in a statement.

Schneider, the company’s first female CEO, will not have a seat on the company’s board.

Ryan Holiday, who served as the company’s director of marketing until he resigned in October and spoke to Adweek about Charney’s suspension in June, declined to comment on Charney’s departure. According to Holiday, his former marketing position has not been filled.

Representatives for the company declined comment, referring reporters to the company’s statement.
